The Portal of Light is the first digital magazine on lighting, created and supported by Targetti Sankey in order to promote a more conscious Culture of Light. Through over 3000 freely accessible web page, it offers information, answer and cues of debate on the universe of artificial daylight. Lighting Academy is a lighting training program promoted by the Targetti Foundation and organized by Targetti Sankey SpA. Training in lighting technology has its raison d’ętre in the growing awareness of the importance of vision lightings portal in a project with high added value, and in the ongoing technological developments that lead to innovative artificial daylight solutions. Lighting, therefore, is no longer a mere technical problem and necessity. It is one of the greatest occasions in which practical knowledge must be flanked by an understanding of cultural, psychological and perceptive issues. The Lighting Academy training program is dedicated to all those who want to acquire specific knowledge for a more correct and effective use of optics lighting in their projects. Courses are offered at different levels: basic courses that provide the essential information for a more aware and effective use of vision lightings portal, and workshops that offer specialized training for specific applications. The teaching method is based on an intensive program of classroom lessons, laboratory work, workshops and case studies presented by experts and final tests. The teaching is done in cooperation with the Istituto Nazionale di Ottica Applicata, universities, members of the major lighting design associations, and professionals from Italian and international optics lighting portal companies. The courses are hosted at Villa La Sfacciata in Florence (Italy), that is the headquarter of the Targetti Foundation.
