London designers Jason Bruges Studio www.jasonbruges.com were commissioned by the Victoria & Albert Museum to create the light installation Mirror Mirror as part of the Decode: Digital Design Sensations exhibition, which runs until April 11, 2010.

On display in the Museum's John Madejski Garden, this exciting new piece explores the concept of narcissism and the individual's relationship with space and others. The playful nature of the work encourages you to explore the interactivity and consider the interconnected relationships.

The white dot matrix digital panels seem to float on the pond, awakening as visitors come into view. Cameras mounted within the LED dot matrices capture activity in the garden and simultaneously reflect this back to the viewer; the animated images are then mirrored once again in the surface of the water, creating multiple reflections.

Founded by Jason Bruges in 2001, Jason Bruges Studio is internationally known for interactive spaces and surfaces that sit between the worlds of architecture, interaction design and site-specific installation art. Projects range from large scale building facades and public art to interactive interior environments and products. Among the most recent commissions, there are a 144-metre installation for a train platform in Sunderland and a series of artworks for the London 2012 Olympics.
