Motivated by humanitarian action, a group of lighting professionals founded the association Lighting Designers Without Borders association. The chairman is the French lighting designer Roger Narboni from Concepto Agency. The association’s main fields of intervention are three: the response to emergency situations; the participation in rebuilding operations in post emergency situations; the action as part as regional development. The association is opened to every one interested in the matter.

LIGHTING DETECTIVES |
|
Established in Tokyo in 1990, Lighting Detectives (Tandeidan) is a non-profit research group dedicated to the study and promotion of lighting culture through the observation and surveying of urban light environments. Since its foundation, on-going fieldworks of urban light environment have been conducted in Japan and beginning from 1999 in other cities around the world through the international branch of the association called the Transnational Lighting Detectives.

ECOLIGHT |

Ecolight is an Italian no-profit organisation founded to manage and solve every kind of ecologic issue related to all lighting components and everything concerning their elimination and recycle. Since now more than 120 lighting companies form part in this institution. Italian law provides that a company can arrange for the disposal of waste material as a single company or in association with other companies. Ecolight is just a voluntary and no-profit organization born to meet this necessity.

CELMA is a Federation representing 16 National Manufacturers Associations for Luminaires and Electrotechnical Components for Luminaires. These producers, which include many small and medium-sized companies, directly employ some 100.000 people and generate 8 billion Euro annually.

The Deutsche Lichttechnische Gesellschaft (LiTG) is a German scientific non-profit organization in the field of light and lighting with 2.500 members and a follow-up organization to the Deutsche Beleuchtungstechnische Gesellschaft founded in 1912. A member of Lux Europe LiTG has technical committees on interior and exterior lighting, daylighting, lighting calculations and lighting practice and offers publications on all aspects of light and lighting.

The Indian Society of Lighting Engineers (ISLE) is a professional body in the field of illuminating engineering with a broad based membership of scientists, engineers, architects, academicians, researchers, designers and others interested in lighting issues. ISLE is affiliated to the CIE, the International Commission on Illumination. It is also a member of Lux Pacifica, a lighting body that represents 60% of the world's population.
